What's Typically Included For Lighting Layouts?
From simple layouts to more complex projects, US LED can generate comprehensive lighting layouts that include:
- 2D/3D luminaire placement with specified mounting positioning in an application
- Point-by-point footcandle calculations to identify how much light is hitting a target surface
- "Heatmap" model to visualize how the light is dispersed
- Complete luminaire schedule outlining product details alongside the mounting positioning
The Value of Good Lighting Design
Every space has its own unique lighting needs. Whether it's the need to account for daylight harvesting, high ceilings, or employee productivity - choosing the proper lighting is imperative for a functional environment. US LED has a complete portfolio of interior, exterior, and sign lighting products. When our lighting experts create a photometric layout for your project, we can confidently tell you what lights are the best and efficient. We will also communicate the demands on your electrical system so you know if additional electrical work is needed. In addition, these lighting layouts help installers because they will know what to set up before they even arrive on the job site.
Perfectly Precise LED Lighting Solutions
US LED uses photometric analysis to simulate every aspect of your project - area size and shape, items on display, the local environment, and much more. Using this information, we can recommend which type of luminaires you need, how many you need, and where to place them. In addition, lighting specialists can input poles, luminaires, buildings, trees, cars, and other items that may impact the direction of the light or the illumination of the property. For signage lighting, we use CAD software to bring our modules down to scale, so you know what products and drivers to purchase. Our lighting experts will also create designs that adhere to your local and state codes, focusing on factors like light levels, light spill, and light trespass.
Fast Service From Lighting Experts
By providing as many details as possible upfront about your projects, like dimensions, desired light levels, mounting height, and existing fixtures, our experts will be able to complete a comprehensive photometric layout that best compliments your project requirements. So what exactly are we looking for to give you the best information possible? Here are some common questions that our experts will ask:
- What type of application is it?
- Are drawings of the application readily available for reference?
- Where can the luminaires be mounted?
- Are we matching an existing lighting footprint, or is it a brand new design?
- What are the targeted areas to be illuminated?
- Aside from standard IES footcandle requirements, is there a desired illuminance target?
We will quickly turn around a lighting layout to you with a virtual model that proposes the design, luminaire characteristics, light levels, and other obscure effects that would impact the completed installation. You will positively enhance visibility, improve safety, and increase employee productivity with the right lighting design.
Photometric reports generated by US LED use methods recommended by the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA). Calculations are used to prepare reports based on data provided by a third party. The accuracy of your photometric report is dependent on the accuracy of the initial data provided. The end-user environment and application (including but not limited to voltage, variation, and dirt accumulation) can cause actual photometric performance to differ from photometric calculations. The report will be provided without warranty as to accuracy, completeness, reliability, or otherwise. In no event will US LED be responsible for any loss resulting from any use of this report.
